So as earlier predicted this blog/day zero thing has been neglected for some time now. Perhaps because I made said prediction, it came true by default. So now I am committed to this thing, and to ticking off the list (and writing it!!!).
The day zero server is down.....so not able to add to or tick off items on the list yet. I know that one item was to go to Queenstown...and that now gets a great big tick!!! had a wonderful week travelling around Central Otago/Southland with my good friend Sally. We had a ball....drinking Central Otago Pinot; swimming in gorgeous aqua blue lakes; driving through what has to be some of the most beautiful scenery in the county. Was a little disappointed that a lot of the charm of this region has been dissapated by the onslaught of tourists. Also a little disappoited that most of these tourists are from overseas...I am speaking to myself as well when I saw "Come on NZ!!!! Check out your own backyard!!". I am so glad to have had the oppurtunity to travel to Queenstown before I head off overseas. Seeing as most people overseas who have "been to New Zealand", have flown into auckland, then flown to Queenstown, spent two weeks in a campervan and then bailed, I now feel I can relate to people overseas when they say "i have been to NZ, very nice mountains" :)
